“It is absurd to tell women to love themselves in a world that alienates them from their own flesh. No amount of one-quarter-moisturiser soap can wash away the knowledge of what your female body means to others: sex object, breeder, wank fodder, window dressing, on-set extra. The distress women feel when confronted with image after image of extreme thinness cannot simply be characterised as “I want to look like that so that men love me”. A woman might actually be thinking “women are supposed to look like that because men do not like us at all”. Or “I want to look like that so that my body will be less fleshy, less female and less real”. Women starve, binge and purge because they feel trapped in bodies that are not “theirs”. The trouble is, there’s never a female body that fits.”

Fairy Tale Picspam → Sleeping Beauty

The fairies came to the celebration, and as it was ending they presented the child with gifts. The one promised her virtue, the second one gave beauty, and so on, each one offering something desirable and magnificent. The eleventh fairy had just presented her gift when the thirteenth fairy walked in. She was very angry that she had not been invited and cried out, “Because you did not invite me, I tell you that in her fifteenth year, your daughter will prick herself with a spindle and fall over dead.”

Better Endings for AHS Apocalypse

1: If they wanted to keep the hit and run, they should have set up Michael as this cocky and evil bastard who thinks nothing could kill him so that when Mallory goes back it can be not only ironic but humorous that someone as powerful cold be killed in such a mundane way. This is the only way the hit and run and Mallory’s behavior would have made sense to me. Mallory had every right to be furious at Michael for the slaughter of her coven and the destruction of the world but only when she knew that there was no chance to change him and prevent the apocalypse. The shows’ ending just made her look so bitchy and awful for attacking someone who was mentally 5-6 and wasn’t even given a chance to fight back. It felt like they had two separate stories that they wanted to do, but instead of sticking with one (even if it had some plot holes and weak moments) at least it would have been coherent. Here it was not only weak but incoherent.

2. The whole season they set up Michael as a sympathetic character who had difficulty fighting against his darker self and was surrounded by people who either didn’t know how to control it or wanted to use it against him. I expected Michael to die, I had just hoped he would have died with some sort of redemption, with a chance to finally know what it was like to have someone love him, to do something god for once. Like, if Mallory was in trouble and he came to save her, he could have been given the redemption he deserved. Then Mallory (if for some reason she couldn’t save his life or if he wanted to die) could have healed the evil inside him, thus ending the evil soul of the son of Satan and let Michael die with his soul going to heaven. This would have also prevented Satan of using Michael’s soul to go to the baby. Let Michael have a chance to fight for his soul rather than making the choice for him.

3. (And yes, this is me shamelessly wanting Millory to happen). Michael and Mallory were often shown as being opposites from one another. He brings death and destruction, while Mallory brought life and salvation. Imagine how incredible it would have been if they revealed that Mallory was a spawn of an angel, namely the archangel Michael. It would make sense as to how and why Mallory was able to stand up against him in the interview and the sheer wonder they both had for each other. The only other being that could be powerful enough to stand up against the son of Satan would be the daughter of Archangel Michael. The symbolism, the symbolism my dear. Darkness and Light coming together to bring a balance to the world (yes my Reylo is slipping in here too.)

4. To keep Michael alive, let Mallory go back to when Constance had committed suicide, presumably to kill Michael. But when she sees just how vulnerable and innocent he is in that moment, she would realize that the monster she knew wasn’t born that way, but created (reference to a certain previous season, huh?). Let Mallory be the one to step in before Ben does and offer him help, taking him away from Murder House to the coven. They could have even had a moment where Mallory heals the evil in his soul, allowing Michael to be the good man he wanted to be. Then while they with the coven, living a peaceful life, they could have kept the baby being Antichrist 2.0 (which still is confusing since both his parents are mortals) and let him be the threat in the next season, this time being wholly evil and letting Mallory and Michael go into a epic battle against the new Antichrist.

There are so many different and better ways to have ended the season that would have made sense and been within character for Michael and Mallory, but this ending felt rushed, screwed around with the conclusion of other seasons which felt like a slap in the face for those who watched and loved them. It’s getting tiring to watch a season and to get so invested with the story and characters only for them to screw everything up within the finale (Looking at you too, Castle Rock)

Feel free to add your own endings, but these were just a few thoughts I had.
