When I saw Glen Keane’s rough draft of the beast’s transformation, I was
speechless. Every frame had so much dynamic energy in it, so much care, and the
whole thing was simply beautiful. When I watched the interview, Mr. Keane
described how he drew inspiration from The Burghers of Calais, which he
described as “souls in iron.” I hope to become an animator too one day, so that
I can create something just as beautiful and expressive.
